        Background
        Timothy Williams was born in Grand Rapids Michigan in 1965. He was admitted to the bar in 1992 and then worked with a small firm in Benzie County before starting his own practice in Manistee, MI in December of 1992.

        In 2003, he moved to Mason, MI and relocated the practice to the Ingham County/Mason area. Just recently the firm moved into its new offices above the Vault Deli in downtown Mason. The office gives the firm more space and better facilities to service our clients' needs.

        Legal focus
        Mr. Williams has experience in criminal law, defending clients charged with felonies, misdemeanors and drunk driving and also assisting with license restoration. In family law, Mr. Williams is an experienced lawyer offering help for cases of divorce, child custody, child support, adoption, and abuse and neglect.  He also offers legal representation for business litigation, and advises clients regarding estate planning and wills.

        Recent case wins
        Based on his meticulous preparation, Mr. Williams recently won two cases on summary judgments dealing with real and personal property disputes, including adverse possession. Mr. Williams serves as court-appointed counsel for indigent defendants in Ingham and Jackson counties. He serves as a court-appointed attorney for parents involved with child protection proceedings and as a guardian ad litem for children in foster care. Mr. Williams handles appeals for clients who have had their parental rights terminated in abuse and neglect proceedings.

        Affiliations
        Mr. Williams is a member of the Criminal Law, Family Law, Real Property Law, and Probate and Estate sections of the State Bar of Michigan. He is a member of the Ingham County Bar Association and the Jackson County Bar Association.

        Hobbies
        In his free time, Mr. Williams is a runner who enjoys participating in 5K runs around the state of Michigan. He is an avid baseball fan and loves spending time in northern Michigan in the summer with his family.
